Your body is doing something
extraordinary

Pregnancy is one of the most profound things a body can do. At Culture Chiropractic in Hackney, we support you through every stage — from the first trimester through to birth and beyond. Our approach is gentle, nervous system-centred, and deeply respectful of what your body is already doing.

Why it matters

Why pregnancy is one of the most important times to see a chiropractor

As your baby grows, your body makes extraordinary changes. Your centre of gravity shifts, your pelvis widens, your ligaments soften, and your spine adapts to carry a completely new weight distribution. These changes can place significant strain on your spine, pelvis and nervous system — often surfacing as lower back discomfort, pelvic girdle pain, or a general sense of tension and fatigue.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy works with these changes rather than against them. By supporting your spine and nervous system, we help your body adapt more freely — reducing tension, improving comfort, and helping you feel more at ease throughout your pregnancy.

Reduce tension and discomfort

Gentle, precise adjustments that help your body carry the demands of pregnancy with more ease — reducing lower back tension, pelvic pressure and the physical strain that builds through each trimester.

Support pelvic balance

A balanced pelvis gives your baby more space and supports optimal positioning as you approach birth. We work with your body’s natural changes rather than trying to override them.

Nervous system support

Your nervous system governs everything happening in your body during pregnancy. When it is well-supported, your body communicates more effectively — with better energy, sleep and adaptability.

Prepare for birth

A well-functioning spine and nervous system helps your body move through labour with more ease. Many of our members find consistent care through the third trimester leaves them feeling more prepared and less tense.

Every stage

How we support you through
each trimester

First trimester · 0–12 weeks

Building the foundation

Your body is doing extraordinary work that you cannot yet see. We focus on supporting your nervous system from the very beginning — helping your brain and body stay connected as the foundations of your pregnancy are laid.

Second trimester · 12–28 weeks

Staying balanced

As your bump grows and your posture begins to shift, we work with your spine and pelvis to keep things balanced and comfortable. Many members notice the biggest difference in how they move and feel during this stage.

Third trimester · 28–40 weeks

Preparing for birth

In the final weeks, the demands on your pelvis and lower back are at their highest. We work to reduce tension, encourage optimal pelvic balance, and help prepare your body and nervous system for birth.

Postpartum

Recovery and renewal

Birth is a significant event for your spine and nervous system. We support new mothers through the physical recovery of postpartum — addressing the new demands of feeding, carrying and caring for a newborn.

Your questions

Everything you need to know

Dr Corey and Dr Nadia are fully registered with the General Chiropractic Council.

Yes — and it is one of the most common questions we are asked. Pregnancy chiropractic at Culture Chiropractic is gentle and specifically adapted for every stage. We use specialist pregnancy pillows and a drop table so you are always in a comfortable, safe position. There is no forceful cracking or twisting involved at any point.

Any time is a good time. Many of our members start in the first trimester before discomfort sets in, while others come to us in the second or third trimester when physical changes are more pronounced. The sooner you start, the more your body benefits throughout the pregnancy — but it is never too late to begin.

This depends entirely on your individual needs, how your body is responding, and what stage of pregnancy you are at. After your first appointment we will give you a clear, honest care plan with a recommended schedule and the reasoning behind it. You will never be kept in the dark.

Absolutely. Birth is a significant physical event and postpartum chiropractic care is something we feel strongly about. We support new mothers through the physical recovery process and the new demands on your body that come with caring for a newborn — from feeding positions to carrying and everything in between.

Yes — from the first trimester right through to late pregnancy and postpartum. Our approach and equipment are fully adapted for every stage. We also see women who are planning for pregnancy and want to prepare their body and nervous system before conception.
